Agnes Obel combines the songs of the enigmatic Jamaican Nora Dean (produced by Duke Reid) with the cutting, caustic "Party Girl" by Michelle Gurevich that inspired the French film of the same name. The vibrant voices of the Bulgarian Folk Choir, Nina Simone, Ray Davies and Agnes herself meet the more-or-less electronic tracks of Yello, CAN and iconic Greek composer Lena Platonos. The collection is enriched with new material by Agnes Obel, such as the Danish song "Glemmer Du", an arrangement of Inger Christensen's poem "Poem For Death" and the song "Bee Dance".
