With "Aventine", the Berlin-based Dane releases her eagerly awaited second album. "Aventine" is the follow-up to the successful debut "Philharmonics", which has sold over 450,000 copies in Europe since its release in 2010, has achieved platinum status in France and Belgium and five times platinum in Denmark, where Agnes Obel also won five Danish Grammy Awards in 2011. Agnes Obel is originally from Copenhagen and has lived in Berlin since 2006. She recorded the album "Aventine" in the spring of 2013 at her Chalk Wood Studios in Berlin. As with "Philharmonics", she wrote, arranged and produced the songs on the new album herself. Besides Agnes Obel (piano / vocals), the line-up consists of Anne Müller, who has already played with Nils Frahm (cello), and Mika Posen from Timber Timbre on violin and viola. Agnes Obel about the album: "I recorded the songs in a small room. The vocals, the piano - everything seems very close on the recordings. Despite this sparseness, I changed the dynamics a lot in the songs and created something like soundscapes - with just a few instruments I was able to create something that felt spectacular."
