"Creatures Of An Hour", Still Corners' debut, shines thanks to Tessa Murray's delicate vocals and the atmospheric, cinematic influences of composer Greg Hughes. The first single, "Cuckoo," shines in its simplicity: a single drumbeat, a ghostly guitar and a distant organ set the scene for Murray's soprano asking, "I'd like to read your mind / Can you read mine?" Hughes, meanwhile, is content to keep Still Corners' musical secrets a mystery because he doesn't like to explain the songs: "It ruins the mystery."
