Lovedrive is the fifth studio album by German rock band Scorpions , released in 1979. The album was recorded in the United States with producer Dieter Dierks. It marked a change in the band's sound from the pop rock style of their previous albums to a heavier hard rock style. The album includes the hit singles "Lovedrive", "Another Piece of Meat" and "Coast to Coast". The album Lovedrive was a critical and commercial success, reaching number six on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over one million copies in the United States. The album has been cited as a major influence on the heavy metal genre. It ranked 488th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
