Fans of American singer Norah Jones had to wait more than four years for her new album. The album, Day Breaks, will be released on 7 October.The Texas native's sixth studio album should be a return to her musical roots, to the sound of her 2002 debut album Come Away With Me, for which she won a total of eight prestigious Grammy Awards. "I see the new album as 'coming full circle' because I'm going back to my early influences. After the first record, I got a bit detached from the piano. I was still playing it, but I was more inspired to write new songs with guitar accompaniment. I really enjoyed playing the piano on the new songs," says the artist herself about the creation of the album.The thirty-seven-year-old singer has included a total of twelve songs on the record and will release it not only digitally and on CD, but also on a special 180-gram orange vinyl. Discerning fans will welcome the fact that the album will be available in a deluxe version, which will be enriched with four live recordings. Fans of digital purchases will be delighted to know that when they pre-order the album, they will immediately get a download of the pilot single, which is the song Carry On.Being a perfectionist, Norah Jones surrounded herself with top musicians during the recording process. For example, American saxophonist Wayne Shorter, organist Dr. Lonnie Smith and drummer Brian Blade were all integral parts of the creation of Day Breaks. With them, the singer recorded nine original songs and three cover versions from the repertoire of Neil Young, Duke Ellington and Horace Silver.Norah Jones will also support the release of the new album with a major tour of North America and Europe, which will include twenty-three stops. Although she will not be coming here, Czech fans can follow her to Italy, Great Britain or France. We can only hope that the singer, who has sold more than fifty million albums to date and won a plethora of prestigious awards, will eventually come to our country as well.Norah Jones is back in great form! In early autumn she will release her sixth studio album "Day Breaks", which she presents as a return to her musical beginnings. The album will be released by Universal Music on October 7th!
