Neo Trance

Neo-Trance (otherwise known as Minimal Trance) is a subgenre of trance. It combines oldskool trance elements with minimal, tech-house, techno, etc. It uses various musical aspects that are not directly related to trance, but still keeps to its original idea. It contains deeper and above all meaningful lyrics. However, it can also be without vocals. Neo-trance artists often work with vocalists who recorded primarily on the underground side of trance. The music itself has its roots in minimal techno, but adds melodic elements and breakdowns. Neo-trance is also used to describe trance music, which draws heavily on inspiration from synthesizer tracks from the late 1970s and first half of the 1980s.
