Scott Stapp is an American singer, songwriter, and musician best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Creed. Formed in 1994, Creed achieved widespread success with hits like "My Sacrifice," "With Arms Wide Open," and "Higher," becoming one of the best-selling rock bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Stapp's distinctive voice and introspective lyrics played a significant role in the band's popularity. After Creed disbanded in 2004, Stapp embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album "The Great Divide" in 2005. He faced personal struggles that were highly publicized, including issues with substance abuse and mental health, which he has been open about in his music and autobiography. Despite these challenges, he continued to produce music, releasing additional solo albums such as "Proof of Life" in 2013 and "The Space Between the Shadows" in 2019.
