Dante Fox

British Melodic Rock Band

Dante Fox was the original name of the band that later became known as Great White. Formed in Los Angeles in 1977, the band originally consisted of Jack Russell (vocals), Mark Kendall (guitar), Don Costa (bass), and Tony Richards (drums). The group played the local club circuit and began to build a following with their hard rock sound influenced by blues and classic rock. In 1982, Dante Fox changed their name to Great White, under which they achieved greater commercial success. They are best known for their hit songs "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and "Rock Me." The band's early work under the name Dante Fox contributed to the foundation of what would become Great White's signature sound.
