Diamond Head is a British heavy metal band that formed in 1976 in Stourbridge, England. The band is recognized as one of the leading members of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement and is acknowledged for their influential role in the development of thrash metal, with bands like Metallica citing Diamond Head as a key influence. The band's early work, particularly their debut album "Lightning to the Nations" (1980), has received critical acclaim and is considered a classic within the genre. Over the years, Diamond Head has gone through numerous lineup changes with guitarist Brian Tatler remaining as the constant member. Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as some of their contemporaries, Diamond Head has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to record and perform live. They have released several albums throughout their career, including re-recordings and live albums, with "Lightning to the Nations 2020" being a re-recording of their iconic debut album to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
