Carolyn Crawford

Carolyn Crawford is an American soul singer who began her career in the 1960s after winning a singing competition sponsored by Motown Records. She was signed to Motown and released several singles, including "My Smile Is Just a Frown (Turned Upside Down)," which was written and produced by Smokey Robinson. Despite her initial success, Crawford left Motown and continued her career with other labels like Philadelphia International Records. Throughout her career, she has been known for her soulful voice and contributions to the genre, although she did not achieve the same level of fame as some of her Motown contemporaries.
