Cannabis Corpse is an American death metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia, in 2006. The group was founded by bassist/vocalist Phil "Landphil" Hall and his brother, drummer Josh "HallHammer" Hall, with the intention of paying homage to classic death metal bands while incorporating lyrical themes and imagery centered around marijuana. Their name is a parody of the well-known death metal band Cannibal Corpse, and this theme of parody extends to their album and song titles, which often feature weed-related puns on classic death metal tracks.
