Baton Rouge was an American hard rock band formed in the late 1980s in Louisiana. The band is known for their 1990 debut album "Shake Your Soul," which was released under the Atlantic Records label. Baton Rouge consisted of vocalist Kelly Keeling, guitarists Lance Bulen and Jack Ponti, bassist Scott Bender, and drummer Corky McClellan. They achieved moderate success with their blend of hard rock and melodic hooks, particularly with the single "Walks Like a Woman." Despite the potential shown on their debut album, Baton Rouge struggled to maintain momentum in a changing musical landscape dominated by the grunge movement. The band released two more albums, "Lights Out on the Playground" in 1991 and one self-titled album before disbanding. Over the years, members of Baton Rouge have been involved in various musical projects, but they are best remembered for their early '90s work, particularly "Shake Your Soul."
