Marpo & TroubleGang release their second album with the symbolic title DVA. The singles Best, Generation of Big Dreams, Weekend have already been released from the album.

The band TroubleGang was a revelation out of the blue a few years ago. The group of outsiders, who sold out the O2 arena last year, are now one of the headliners of music festivals. The anticipated album DVA is another step forward thanks to their unique musical approach. Hard rock guitars, uncompromising electronic beats and traditionally very open lyrics have the ambition to resonate across the music scene.

The production of DVA is once again handled by Marcus Tran as well as Clint Murphy, who has worked with the likes of Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. Rapper IronKap, Jan Wohnout, Richard Scheufler Jr. and singer Lenny also contributed original ideas. The drums were recorded at Modern World Studios in Tetbury, England, with additional recording taking place at Modern Babylon in Teplice.

"Recording an album together is always a bit of a struggle. The first TroubleGang record was basically put together by Kap and Marpo. WHNT wrote the lyrics on the fly. Back then we didn't expect anything and there was basically no pressure," comments the band on the recording process. Four years later, however, the situation was different. The frustrated and disintegrated band was expected to make a seminal record that would confirm their position, show genre overlap and confirm that TroubleGang was no longer just a group of rappers but a compact band. The second album, produced by Clint Murphy, was produced primarily by Marcus, Marpo, WHNT and Kap. "We weren't totally excited about the first single and were a bit stumped. After recording we flew back from England and each of us thought - is this it? Why aren't we feeling the same vibe and euphoria as before?" continues the band.

"The funny thing is, the record was due in a month and a half and we didn't have a note. We locked ourselves in the studio and had probably the most intense month and a half in this band's life. It's been an incredible kick and it's brought us together into the old TroubleGang that everybody knows. We made a record that hadn't been on the European market before. I'm proud to say that and I'm incredibly proud of everyone who worked on it," adds Marpo.

Listening to the whole album now, the band feels proud. The old TroubleGang is definitely at an end, and with its end all the problems have gone. "In a crisis situation, it became clear that what the whole TroubleGang was built on is still going strong, and no amount of management, money or success will extinguish that flame. We welcome a new chapter with the number TWO," the band concludes.
