Trentemøller's debut album remains in many ways one of the few genre-defining and groundbreaking albums not only in electronic music. The Last Resort is a gorgeous, stunning and breathtaking masterpiece that is admired for both its composition and sound design, and sounds as fresh today as it did when it was first released in October 2006. The thirteen instrumental tracks blend together perfectly to create a musical story like a movie soundtrack. The arc of tension brings together different emotions in gentle melodic miniatures, dreamy atmospheres, chilling grooves, deep dub tracks and driving grooves. An ever-changing kaleidoscope of colours and moods. Although the album can ultimately be described as "electronic", it also lives on thanks to the abundance of hand played instruments such as drums, guitar, bass, celesta, chimes, melodica and even DJ scratching that give the music an organic feel. The album has received fantastic acclaim from music lovers and music journalists around the world and has made it onto many best of lists, as well as numerous awards for best production and best album. When it was first released, the "Vinly Edition" contained only a selection of songs from the original album, which had 13 tracks. It was missing tracks that had previously appeared on singles that are now unavailable or simply didn't fit on the double 12" disc. Due to popular demand, and simply because such an album deserves a proper vinyl release, we are pleased to finally present the complete album on vinyl. The new release now includes three records in gatefold sleeves. The new cut has been meticulously produced from the original first-generation patterns by the Berlin-based Calyx company. Not only because the album was praised for its fantastic sound, but the main guideline was that the new vinyl edition should sound exactly like the original release. It was not "digitally remastered" and other sonic changes were omitted.
