They are imbued with energy, light and emotion. Selah Sue moves between smooth electro-soul, dreamy trip-hop and multi-layered house beats on "Reason" and finds her true musical self. In her native Belgium, London, Jamaica and Los Angeles, she visited a number of recording studios in search of the perfect balance. With Denmark's Robin Hannibal (Little Dragon, Kendrick Lamar) and Sweden's Ludwig Göransson (HAIM, Childish Gambino), she has always had two experienced producers by her side. From the not-quite-tangible feeling that all the tracks came out of a late-night jam session, and the architectural care of the compositions, the album makes an extraordinary whole. Selah Sue stays true to her unquenchable desire for music and manages to awaken a sense of light and dark with shimmering textures in all of us. She doesn't compromise, her heart is gritty, unsettling, enchanting. With her, even flowers have dark shadows.
