New album by Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds. The twenty-six year old musician breaks down the boundaries between the worlds of classical music, independent electronica and post-rock and portrays the cool charm of his homeland in his impressive atmospheric compositions of electronic chamber music. At twenty-six years old, he is already a recognized fixture of the alternative scene and a tireless experimenter who pushes the boundaries of his style with every release. His emotive, minimalist compositions are reminiscent of the fragile neoclassical recordings of Jóhann Jóhannsson or Zbigniew Preisner, but one can also feel the influence of atmospheric post-rock moods, for example. After all, his more famous compatriots Sigur Rós invited him on tour five years ago.
