Hilary Hahn has been described as the brightest star among young violinists. She has visited Prague twice. The first time was two years ago with the Stravinsky Concerto at the Prague Spring Festival, the second time this August, when she played the Dvořák Concerto at the Czech Philharmonic's prologue to the 2006/07 season.

She chose the virtuosic music of Paganini and Spohr not to show off her dazzling technique, but to reveal the artistic values of this somewhat downplayed music. In her interpretation, "this music blossomed like a beautiful hydrangea", as one Czech critic wrote.
