Milestone reissues Marillion fans listen up: the legendary "Misplaced Childhood" is available in 2017 in a remastered version and an expanded deluxe edition. "Misplaced Childhood" is the band's third studio album and their first number one success in their native UK. It was originally released on 17 June 1985 and featured two of Marillion's most successful singles, "Lavender" and "Kayleigh". In 2017, all songs were remastered for the re-release. In addition, two special editions were released this summer alongside the CD and LP. The deluxe edition contains a total of four CDs, including the newly remastered album, a live recording of a previously unreleased 1985 concert at the Muziekcentrum Vredenburg in Utrecht, the Netherlands, where the band played the entirety of "Misplaced Childhood" among other songs, as well as demos and other rarities. The absolute highlight, however, is the audio on Blu-ray with 5.1 surround sound by Steven Wilson, a 2017 remaster in high resolution 96 kHz/24 bit, pomo videos and more. The full track list can be found below. Everything is packaged in a hardcover book with a 60-page text with notes by rock journalist Dave Everley and lots of interesting photos. The limited deluxe edition box set offers four 180g LPs in total with remastered versions of the album and the full concert from the Netherlands.
