One of the most successful bands on the domestic scene, Mandrage, will release their sixth studio album, "After Midnight", on January 19. This time all the band members have contributed to the 13 tracks, both musically and lyrically. The album will be presented by Mandrage on tour, which will start on February 2 in Prague's Forum Karlín. After the last two albums, which were more in the pop vein, Mandrage is returning to its rock roots. "After Midnight" contains both the typically catchy Mandrage hits and songs with a much sharper and guitarier sound. Even this time, however, Mandrage have not forgiven themselves for the inclusion of samples, but the album still feels cohesive and convincing. The potential hits Butterflies (the band's current single, coupled with the latest YouTube video, which has already reached almost a million views), as well as Endorphins and Actresses, for example, promise the album's resonance at radio.The album was recorded at Armin Effenberger's Chicsound studio and Berlin's Red Bull Studios. It contains 12 original songs, on which all members of Mandrage contributed musically and lyrically. The new songs are accompanied by a cover of "Little Fuckers in Us" by the band Zuby Nehty. The final mixing and mastering was done by Lukáš Martínek and Ecson Waldes. "The album was originally supposed to be released in autumn this year, but we reworked a lot of things and lost a lot of time. In the end we didn't manage to finish the album in five minutes to twelve, it was finished some time after twelve. However, we are of the opinion that it is better to release a great album after midnight than a half-finished album before noon," explains the band's guitarist Pepa Bolan and the symbolic title of the album.The band will kick off the subsequent tour for the album "After Midnight" on February 2, 2018 with a big concert in Prague's Forum Karlín and then visit six other cities in the Czech Republic (Liberec, Pardubice, Brno, Ostrava, Pilsen and České Budějovice). For Brno fans, she has already added a second February date. The opening act will be young singer-songwriter and busker Jakub Ondra. Tickets are available at TicketStream. The packed playlist will consist of greatest hits as well as songs from the new album and older songs that Mandrage hasn't played live for a while. Everything will be complemented by new visuals and, as we've come to expect from Mandrage, an original, distinctive set that will be even more technically challenging than it was on the last tour. But what these two tours will have in common is the invention and production of the backdrops, which this time will be carried out with great commitment by the band members themselves. "It's interesting how every year the cost of the tour increases. We want to keep moving forward. The neon design, which we've already outlined a little bit by promoting our tour on Facebook, runs through the whole album, stage, costumes and merchandise. We always try to work and think about everything conceptually.
