A new collection of hard rock icons Magnum for 2021 It's been three years since Magnum released "The Valley Of Tears - The Ballads", a compilation that showed a rather quiet and dreamlike side of the English rock band. Three years during which the idea of following up this successful disc (Top 100 in the German album chart) with a proper counterpart was ripe. "Dance Of The Black Tattoo" is exactly that: a collection of songs that show Magnum to be a solid rock band and an extremely vital formation. What's special about this album is that Magnum has scoured their extensive archive to find rarities worth listening to, both stage and radio versions, and now presents fiery live recordings and cuts focusing on the essential ingredients of some of their most successful rock numbers. Of course, guitarist and bandleader Tony Clarkin took the opportunity to remaster and update all 14 tracks using the latest (audio) technology. He says: "Magnum have always had two sides, the slightly softer and more lyrical side, but of course above all the extremely powerful and rock side. And that's what "Dance Of The Black Tattoo" impressively documents."
