For the sake of the environment: the new Lorde album Lorde loves music and the environment. The New Zealand-Croatian singer-songwriter shows just how much when she releases a new album in 2021. "Solar Power" is the telling title of her third solo album after "Pure Heroine" (2013) and "Melodrama" (2017). Both albums reached number one on the charts in her home country of New Zealand and Australia and several times in the Top 10 internationally. The best prerequisites for "Solar Power", which she already announced with the single of the same name. The dreampop song is inspired by the power of nature and the lyrics are "about the infectious, flirty summer energy that takes hold of us all," Lorde says. Fans immediately noticed the sonic similarities to George Michael's "Freedom! '90". However, the George Michael Estate has already given the song their blessing. In total, there are twelve new songs on "Solar Power". They celebrate nature. The album is an attempt to immortalize the deep, transcendent feeling the singer experiences when she is outdoors. Lorde has chosen an unusual form of release: instead of a CD, the album appears in a box with no soundtrack, but with a download code. It is a 100% biodegradable hard eco-box. The download code offers a new album with bonus tracks and access to exclusive content. A fold-out poster and 32-page booklet also await you, as well as a limited edition 4-card set. "I decided early on in the process of creating this album that I wanted to create an organic and progressive alternative to CDs as well," says Lorde. "I wanted this jukebox-type product to be similar in size, shape and price to a retail CD, but with something different - a plastic-free box that contains lots of additional visual content, handwritten notes, exclusive photos and a download card. It's like buying a membership to a small club dedicated to developing the modern album." Record lovers, however, can look forward to the LP on black vinyl. In addition, Lorde's "Solar Power" is available exclusively for jpc as a clear vinyl. But only while stocks last.
