This release on the Flying Lotus label is epic in every way: a 172-minute set consisting of three volumes, including a 32-piece orchestra, a 20-piece choir and Washington's long-running band projects The Next Step and West Coast Get Down. Kamasi Washington has worked with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Snoop Dogg and Herbie Hancock and is considered one of the most talented jazz musicians with a worldwide reputation. "He just plays the craziest shit. I mean everything - past, present and future. What I hear is a leader among artists." Says Flying Lotus, whose direct lineage is linked to Washington's musical ancestor John Coltrane. A review of "It's Jazz!
