Judas Priest The 1990 album Painkiller is considered one of the band's best albums. It was the first album with new singer Rob Halford since 1988's Ram It Down and the first album with new drummer Scott Travis since 1988's Ram It Down. The album was produced by Tom Allom, who has produced every Judas Priest album from 1979's Unleashed in the East to 1988's Ram It Down. The album's title track, "Painkiller", was released as a single and became a hit on rock radio. In 1991, the album was certified gold in the United States. The album was nominated for a 1991 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance, but lost to Metallica's own album. The album ranked 488th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
