In the 1950s and 1960s, westerns were incredibly popular and dominated the television channels. At a time when TV westerns were at the height of their popularity, a pair of singers cleverly took advantage of this trend. This LP is split evenly between Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins. Both proved they were closer to western than country, recording traditional cowboy classics like "Streets of Laredo" (familiar from many movies) along with their own songs about outlaws and gunslingers.
