Helloween's Chameleon album, released in 1993, was a turning point for the band, as it marked a departure from the traditional heavy metal sound and a move towards a more progressive and experimental direction. The album was a critical and commercial success, spawning the hit singles "Who Is Mr. Madman?" and "I Want Out". Chameleon is often considered Helloween's best album, and many bands in the progressive metal genre cite it as an influence.
