Originally, the quartet from Michigan went into the studio with a few old songs they never recorded. However, a number of new songs were written there, which end up making up three-quarters of the record. Greta Van Fleet has already provided some listener impressions of Anthem Of The Peaceful Army in the singles "When The Curtain Falls" and "Watching Over". And they show that between bluesy ballads and ripping feel-good rock, they have a lot to offer. However, a certain retro factor always remains.
