25 years of Gamma Ray - 25 years of heavy metal from Hamburg: What started in the spring of 1990 with the release of their debut album "Heading For Tomorrow" has reached international fame a quarter of a century later. Eleven successful studio albums, worldwide tours with sold-out concerts and appearances at the world's most famous festivals - the band around singer and guitarist Kai Hansen (ex-Helloween) took the world by storm. Now the band's complete catalogue is about to be reissued within a year. The third studio album "Insanity And Genius", first released in 1993, is the last album with vocalist Ralf Scheepers from the band's early days before Kai Hansen, who was the mastermind behind Gamma Ray, took over the microphone. Reviews "Overall, Gamma Ray proved to be much heavier than the previous album, which pleased fans in the Far East in particular; in Japan, the album became Gamma Ray's best-selling album. Like the previous anniversary edition CD, this reissue features additional live recordings, demo recordings and a cover version of Judas Priest's "Exciter." (Good Times, June/July 2016)
