After the release of his first Dvořák CD last year, Pavel Šporcl brings a second album of Dvořák compositions for violin and piano, from which he selects the Sonata, the miniature Nocturne and above all the virtuoso Slavonic Dances in transcription for violin and piano by the legendary violin master Fritz Kreisler. Šporcl takes full advantage of all the possibilities that Dvořák's compositions offer both in terms of violin playing and pure musicality; his Dvořák is full of colour and nuance. Dvořák's repertoire is complemented by Josef Suk's well-known Four Pieces for Violin and Piano, Op. 17. His invaluable partner at the piano is his accompanist Petr Jiříkovský. The recording is sure to impress the listener with Šporcl's technical skill and sensitive interpretation of the Czech repertoire.
