Full of talent It took seven long years, but now the time has come: shortly before the end of 2017, Charlotte Gainsbourg finally presents an album of all-new material. "Rest" is the title of the French actress and singer's sixth studio effort, the successor to "IRM". She recorded eleven new songs for it. She was backed by Daft Punk member Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, rock legend Paul McCartney, Canadian violinist and singer Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire, Caribou, Franz Ferdinand) and New Zealander Connan Mockasin, among others. Gainsbourg wrote the lyrics for the album, which deal with personal experiences, childhood, losses and fears, entirely by herself for the first time. She has already revealed what "Rest" will sound like in the title track and the songs "Deadly Valentine" and "Ring-A-Ring O' Roses". And they clearly show that the wait for "Rest" was worth it. Charlotte Gainsbourg proves not only her singing talent, but also her great songwriting talent.
