It includes two of his most popular and effective musicians (Miles Davis and Max Roach) and two pianists who were instrumental in the development of bop (Bud Powell and John Lewis). The first recording even features Dizzy Gillespie on piano. The result is authentic and distinctive examples of the new style: (inspired by "Embraceable You") and especially "Now's The Time", "Billie's Bounce" or the masterful, perfect blues track.
