The native language of the world's singing star Anne S. von Otter is a very difficult one. A few years ago, the singer said in Prague that she would like to sing something in Czech, but that she found the language much more difficult than Swedish and that she doubted she would ever sing in Czech. Fortunately, that didn't come true and she sings in Czech on the new album - and excellently. In a way, she has better pronunciation than many Czechs. She has fulfilled an old dream and recorded music that was made during the occupation in the ghetto of the Terezín fortress. The authors of the songs are mostly people who either died in Terezín or died in the extermination camps in Auschwitz or Treblinka. It is moving, high quality music sung from the depths of the soul by compassionate beings Anna Sophie von Otter and Christian Gerhaher.
