Romanza is the debut album by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli , released in 1996. The album was successful in Bocelli's native Italy and achieved moderate success in other European countries. In the United States, the album reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart and eventually received a six-times platinum record from the Recording Industry Association of America. The first single from the album, "Con Te Partirò" (released in 1995), was a huge international success, topping the charts in many countries and selling more than six million copies worldwide. The second single from the album, "Time to Say Goodbye" (released in 1996), was also a success, reaching number one in several countries and selling over four million copies worldwide. Music critics praised Romanza for her classic crossover style, and many praised Bocelli's singing ability. The album went platinum in over thirty countries and sold over twenty-five million copies worldwide.
