J. Balvin, whose real name is José Álvaro Osorio Balvín, is a Colombian reggaeton singer widely recognized for his significant contributions to the genre and Latin music as a whole. Born on May 7, 1985, in Medellín, Colombia, Balvin has become one of the best-selling Latin music artists with sales of more than 35 million records worldwide. He broke into the music scene with his debut album "Real" in 2009 but gained international fame with his 2014 single "6 AM" featuring Farruko, which was a hit in Latin America and entered the charts in the United States and Europe.
