Belinda Carlisle is an American singer who gained fame as the lead vocalist of the all-female band The Go-Go's, one of the most successful all-women bands of all time, and went on to establish a prolific solo career. Born on August 17, 1958, in Hollywood, California, Carlisle's music career took off in the late 1970s with The Go-Go's, whose debut album "Beauty and the Beat" became a chart-topping success. After The Go-Go's initial breakup in 1985, Carlisle embarked on her solo career and released her first solo album "Belinda" in 1986.
