Sony Music México

Sony Music México is a glass mastering and pressing plant, which can be identified by one of the following: • "Mastered by Sony Music México" present in the CD matrix, usually accompanied by mastering SID code IFPI LE8*. • "SMM" moulded into the inner plastic hub, usually accompanied by the mould SID code IFPI 64**. CDs and DVDs from approximately 2004 onwards contain a unique matrix number in one of the following formats: CTDX ###### DIDP ###### DIDX ###### This matrix number can be added to the catalogue number field with the Glass Mastered At role for this plant. For example: Sekta Core / Royal Club - Royal Club - Sekta Core Matrix / Runout: DIDX 112550 01 IFPI LE81 Mastered by Sony Music México Glass Mastered At – Sony Music México – DIDX 112550 However, please note that these CTDX/DIDP/DIDX matrix numbers are also used by other manufacturers including DADC, and should only be assigned to Sony Music México when its name and/or mastering SID code IFPI LE8* is present. During the 1990s, some Mexican releases manufactured by Sony Music México appear to have been replicated from glass masters/stampers created by the American DADC plants, which can be identified by specific matrix patterns described and visualised on its profile (including several crosshair symbols ⌖ that are not present in Mexican glass masters), and by mastering SID codes IFPI L32*.
