World Orchestra For Peace

The World Orchestra for Peace is an international ensemble of musicians from various professional orchestras around the world, founded in 1995 by Sir Georg Solti to reaffirm the unique strength of music as an ambassador for peace. The orchestra was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the United Nations. Following Sir Georg Solti's death, conductor Valery Gergiev took over as the orchestra's principal conductor. The ensemble is known for bringing together outstanding players selected from over 60 orchestras in more than 30 countries. Although they do not regularly release albums, their performances are often recorded and broadcasted. They have performed at numerous prestigious events and venues, promoting peace and cultural understanding through their music. The World Orchestra for Peace is recognized for its high level of artistry and its commitment to delivering a message of harmony and cooperation through the universal language of music.
