The Delmé String Quartet was a British ensemble known for its performances and recordings of classical chamber music. Formed in 1962, the quartet gained a reputation for their interpretations of string quartet repertoire, ranging from classical to contemporary works. Throughout their career, they collaborated with various composers and musicians, which contributed to their diverse discography. The quartet's members at different times included founding leader Granville Jones, Jürgen Hess, Galina Solodchin, John Trusler, and Jonathan Williams among others. They were particularly noted for their performances of British music and made several recordings that received critical acclaim. The Delmé String Quartet disbanded in 1999 after a successful career that spanned over three decades.
