Snails formed in 2010 when Bristol songwriter Dan Weltman (aka Hollowbody) recruited friend Mog Fry [The Wraiths / Ukeytronica) to help soundtrack a budget slasher involving a homicidal nun. No Baftas resulted but this bonding process led to the creation of several more lost soundtracks - songs centred on two voices projecting a vision of widescreen heartache as seen through rain-streaked semi-detached windows. Their sound, awash in melancholy folk and sumptuous pop arrangements, bears the influence of mavericks such as Basil Kirchin, Clive Palmer and Moondog. Snails recently welcomed low frequency operator Holly McIntosh on electric bass and drum expert Steve Dixon on the kit.
