Semafor

Semafor is not an individual artist or band but rather a renowned Czechoslovak theatre in Prague that was established in 1959 by Jiří Suchý and Ferdinand Havlík. The name "Semafor" is an acronym for "Sedmdesát minut farce, humoru a o zábavu revue" (Seventy Minutes of Farce, Humor, and Revue Entertainment). The theatre quickly became famous for its unique blend of music, humor, and satire. Jiří Suchý, a pivotal figure in the theatre, was also a prolific songwriter, musician, and playwright. He collaborated with various composers including Jiří Šlitr, with whom he formed a successful creative partnership until Šlitr's death in 1969.
