Rudolf Mauersberger was a distinguished German choral conductor and composer, primarily known for his work with the Dresdner Kreuzchor, an acclaimed boys' choir based in Dresden. Born on January 29, 1889, in Mauersberg, Saxony, he served as the Kreuzkantor (music director) of the choir from 1930 until his death in 1971. His tenure at the Dresdner Kreuzchor was marked by a commitment to both the preservation of traditional choral music and the incorporation of contemporary works.
