19th-Century German Romantic Composer

Norbert Burgmüller (1810–1836) was a German composer whose promising career was tragically cut short by his untimely death at the age of 26. Despite his brief life, he left behind a body of work that has been admired for its lyrical beauty and romantic sensibility. Burgmüller was born into a musical family; his father was a theater conductor. He showed considerable talent from a young age and studied under famous composers such as Louis Spohr and Johann Nepomuk Hummel.
