Former Metallica Bassists Heavy Metal Project

Newsted is a heavy metal band formed by bassist Jason Newsted, best known for his tenure with the iconic metal band Metallica from 1986 to 2001. After leaving Metallica, Newsted pursued various projects, including Echobrain and an appearance with Ozzy Osbourne. In December 2012, he announced the formation of his own band under the name Newsted, where he served as the lead vocalist and bassist. The band released their debut EP, "Metal," in January 2013, followed by their first full-length studio album, "Heavy Metal Music," in August of the same year. The album received positive reviews from fans and critics alike for its straightforward heavy metal sound. Despite the initial success and a promising start, Newsted disbanded in early 2014, with Jason citing personal reasons for the decision.
