Moxy is a Canadian hard rock and heavy metal band that was formed in Toronto, Ontario, in 1974. The band's self-titled debut album "Moxy" was released in 1975 and quickly brought them to prominence within the rock scene, particularly due to the strength of their single "Can't You See I'm A Star". Moxy's sound was characterized by its powerful guitar riffs and the distinctive voice of their original lead singer, Buzz Shearman. Following their debut, Moxy continued their success with the release of "Ridin' High" in 1977, which further solidified their position in the rock music industry. Their third album, "Under The Lights," came out in 1978 and continued to showcase the band's hard-hitting style. Over the years, Moxy has experienced several lineup changes and periods of inactivity but has maintained a loyal fan base. Despite facing challenges such as Shearman's untimely death in a motorcycle accident in 1983, Moxy has left a lasting legacy on the Canadian rock scene.
