American Folk Guitarist and Songwriter

Mark Fosson was an American singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist whose work is often associated with the American Primitive Guitar genre. Born in Kentucky, Fosson taught himself to play guitar and was deeply influenced by the music of John Fahey, Leo Kottke, and other contemporary acoustic guitarists. In the late 1970s, he sent a demo tape to Fahey's Takoma Records, which led to the recording of an album. However, before the album could be released, Takoma was sold and the record was shelved.
