Janis Joplins Psychedelic Rock Ensemble

The Kozmic Blues Band was formed by Janis Joplin in 1969 after she left her previous band, Big Brother and the Holding Company. The band marked a shift in Joplin's musical direction as she moved away from the psychedelic rock sound of Big Brother to a more soul and blues-oriented style. The Kozmic Blues Band was featured on Joplin's album "I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!" which was released the same year she formed the band. The album included hit tracks such as "Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)" and "Kozmic Blues." Despite the commercial success of the album, the Kozmic Blues Band was short-lived; Joplin disbanded it in late 1969 and went on to form another group, the Full Tilt Boogie Band. Janis Joplin's career, although brief due to her untimely death in 1970, left a lasting impact on rock music and she is remembered as one of its iconic figures.
