The Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart is a renowned German choir that was founded in 1954 by Helmuth Rilling, who also served as its conductor for many years. The choir specializes in the performance of choral-symphonic works, particularly those of Johann Sebastian Bach. Over the years, the Gächinger Kantorei has gained international acclaim for its precise and expressive interpretations, often collaborating with the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, an orchestra also founded by Rilling. Together, they have performed and recorded a wide range of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic repertoire, as well as contemporary compositions.
