Ensamble Kafka

Ensamble Kafka is a band located in Oaxaca, Mexico. This group was started by Steven Brown shortly after his recording the music for the documentary “El Informe Toledo” by director Albino Alvarez, music nominated for an Ariel or Mexican Oscar for best soundtrack 2010. Deciding to further pursue musical ideas begun in this work Brown and partner Julio Garcia invite like minded Oaxacan musicians to participate. Trumpet player Onesimo Garcia, trombonist Facundo Vargas, and tuba player Juanito Gutierrez heed the call. An original creative project is born and is first presented in public for the show “Alumbre, Arte Contemporaneo en Pirotecnia” in Oaxaca. The show is attended by more than five thousand persons for two years running (2011 and 2012).
