Renowned American Conductor and Violinist

Donald Johanos (1928–2007) was an American conductor known for his work with various orchestras throughout the United States. He served as the music director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra from 1962 to 1970, where he was recognized for elevating the orchestra's performance level and reputation. Following his tenure in Dallas, Johanos became the music director of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, a position he held from 1979 to 1994. During his career, he also made guest appearances with other orchestras and recorded several albums.
