The Chicago Symphony Chorus is a world-renowned symphonic chorus based in Chicago, Illinois, that has been an integral part of the city's classical music scene since its founding in 1957 by Margaret Hillis. The chorus is known for its performances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and has been led by various distinguished directors over the years, including its current director, Duain Wolfe, who took over in 1994. The ensemble consists of more than 150 volunteer singers who are rigorously auditioned and trained, performing a wide range of classical repertoire from baroque to contemporary works.
