Ali Campbell is a British singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as the lead vocalist and a founding member of the reggae/pop band UB40. Born on February 15, 1959, in Birmingham, England, Campbell's distinctive voice became synonymous with the band's sound. UB40 achieved considerable international success in the 1980s and 1990s with hits like "Red Red Wine," "Can't Help Falling in Love," and "Kingston Town." In 2008, after nearly three decades with UB40, Ali Campbell left the band due to disputes with management and issues over the direction of the band. He then pursued a solo career, releasing albums that include both original material and covers. His work continues to be influenced by reggae and pop, reflecting his roots in UB40's style while also exploring his own artistic expressions.
